Year 3, Week 1: The Color Blue

blue

The Color Code folks say I’m a Blue and my motive is intimacy. Of the colors and descriptions offered on this site, I guess that’s pretty accurate. I’ve taken a few other color code tests, and in the most prominent one I’ve taken, I come out as a Green, which I completely agree with.

For this color code, the descriptions match me pretty closely. For MOTIVE, they say, “Blues are motivated by Intimacy. They seek to genuinely connect with others, and need to be understood and appreciated. Everything they do is quality-based. They are loyal friends, employers, and employees. Whatever or whomever they commit to is their sole (and soul) focus. They love to serve and give of themselves freely in order to nurture others’ lives.”

This is certainly true, so I guess I object to the choice of the word “intimacy” as the prime descriptor.

For the introduction to Blues, they say the following: “Blues have distinct preferences and have the most controlling personality. Their personal code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy sharing meaningful moments in conversation as well as paying close attention to special life events (e.g. birthdays and anniversaries). Blues are dependable, thoughtful, and analytical; but can also be self-righteous, worry-prone, and moody. They are “sainted pit-bulls” who never let go of something or someone once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere and make a genuine effort to understand and appreciate them.”

Generally speaking, I’m okay with this description. I’ll warn you, I’m not that big on “life events.” Assuming Facebook reminds me of your birthday, I’ll acknowledge it with a basic greeting and wish you well. Otherwise, I might forget to mention it.

How did you think you matched up with your color?
