In Scroll VI, we are mastering emotions<\/strong>. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m having more fun with this scroll than most. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Inside me is a wheel , constantly turning from sadness to joy, from exultation to depression, from happiness to melancholy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I immediately thought of those lights people used to put at the base of their Christmas trees.\u00c2\u00a0\"mastering<\/p>\n

Then, whenever I read this section, I laugh or smile. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Each day, when I awaken, I follow this plan of battle before I am captured by the forces of sadness, self-pity and failure \u00e2\u20ac\u201c\u00e2\u20ac\u009d How many of you view the day in this manner? Well, there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a plan for that.<\/p>\n

If I feel depressed I sing.<\/p>\n

If I feel sad I laugh.<\/p>\n

If I feel ill I double my labor.<\/p>\n

If I feel fear I plunge ahead.<\/p>\n

If I feel inferior I wear new garments.<\/p>\n

If I feel uncertain I raise my voice.<\/p>\n

If I feel poverty I think of wealth to come.<\/p>\n

If I feel incompetent I remember past success.<\/p>\n

If I feel insignificant I remember my goals.<\/p>\n

Today I master my emotions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The scroll goes on to talk about the forces \u00e2\u20ac\u0153which approach with a smile and the hand of friendship and they can also destroy me.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Again. Never relinquish control<\/p>\n

If I become overconfident I recall my failures.<\/p>\n

If I overindulge I think of past hungers.<\/p>\n

If I feel complacency I remember my competition.<\/p>\n

If I enjoy moments of greatness I remember moments of shame.<\/p>\n

If I feel all-powerful I try to stop the wind.<\/p>\n

If I attain great wealth I remember one unfed mount.<\/p>\n

If I become overly proud I remember a moment of weakness.<\/p>\n

If I feel my skill unmatched I look at the stars.<\/p>\n

Today I master of my emotions.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It gets better still!<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I no longer judge a man on one meeting; I no longer fail to call again tomorrow on he who meets me with hate today. This day he does not buy gold chariots for a penny, yet tomorrow he exchanges his home for a tree. My knowledge of this secret is my key to great wealth.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

This scroll, valuable as it is, has me smiling all the way through because of it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s way with words.<\/p>\n

(Yes, the Silence has been wonderful \u00e2\u20ac\u201c I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not in complete Silence during this period, but I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been experimenting and learning many new things.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
