Since I can’t see well enough to do the revisions I want to do, I decided I can still type. I mostly touch type (at least well enough to do quick fixes when I look back over what I’ve typed). I didn’t have any ideas for new books when I finished revising these two, so today, I did some brainstorming. I started with a couple rough ideas–“first one standing” and “elephant in the room.” Don’t ask me what these meant. That’s where I started. I put my favorites on a soundtrack to play from RealPlayer, closed my eyes and typed. Got some things. Nothing really jelled until Dan Seals’ “Everything that Glitters (is not Gold)” came on. Oh my. This will be a painful story to write, but I think it’s going to be good. And I will learn to deal with conflict. I’ve danced away from conflict, but this story has CONFLICT. I have to learn to write it, or this story will fail, and it needs to be told. Breakout Novel Workbook<\/strong>, here I come.<\/p>\n

I have 3,490 words of brainstorming from this morning. I’ll single side print it out in large type font (so I can read it), then I’ll cut it into strips and move the pieces around into the timeline for the story. From that, I’ll devise a proposal (since I need to learn how to do those anyway), and that will form an initial outline to write from.
