I just learned through a fuzzy cell phone call that the cow that managed to get trapped on the ranch several months ago now has a calf–a little black one (baby must be cute; mama is a gorgeous tan). Hubby is not certain if mama and baby managed to make it through the hole in the fence he made for them or not. I did catch that both looked healthy. Of course, we have a wide variety of vegetation and plenty of water, so I’m sure they were happy to stay with us. He also confirmed the red one we thought we’d gotten back through the fence when I was home at Christmas was still on the ranch. I guess we’re cattle people whether we want to be or not. And, presumably, we’re taking as good a care of them as they get at home next door. That’s too bad–for the cows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
