{"id":10484,"date":"2010-01-06T00:12:40","date_gmt":"2010-01-06T06:12:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polarbear60.org\/randr\/?p=2040"},"modified":"2017-02-04T23:17:57","modified_gmt":"2017-02-05T05:17:57","slug":"making-life-what-you-want-it-to-be","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jeanschara.com\/pmtoo\/making-life-what-you-want-it-to-be\/","title":{"rendered":"Making Life What You Want it to Be"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Holly Lisle&#8217;s got a great post today:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/hollylisle.com\/how-to-you-get-what-you-want-from-your-life\/\" target=\"_blank\">How do you make your life what you want it to be?<\/a> Seriously.\u00a0 Go read it.\u00a0 Then come back.<\/p>\n<p>Eons ago when I was stationed in Iceland, I was agonizing to a friend about something.\u00a0 Finally, he said something to the effect of, &#8220;When you&#8217;re ready, you&#8217;ll do it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Which was another way of saying, &#8220;When it matters to you, you&#8217;ll do it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to get caught up in feeling guilty because your life isn&#8217;t what other people think it should be.\u00a0 And Holly&#8217;s right.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re not doing something you think you should be doing, it doesn&#8217;t matter to you.\u00a0 Not matter whether you <em>think<\/em> it should matter to you.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re not doing it, for some reason, it doesn&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 Intellectually, you know it should be important, but if you&#8217;re putting it off, it doesn&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 You need to find what DOES matter and make it happen.<\/p>\n<p>I need to find what DOES matter and make it happen.\u00a0 I&#8217;m thinking about that a lot these days.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t have any answers yet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Holly Lisle&#8217;s got a great post today:\u00a0 How do you make your life what you want it to be?
