I spent the afternoon waging a battle with a SpamBot. For some reason, this particular one found a way around SpamKarma2, and the site was getting hammered with comment spam.<\/p>\n
Why was I home during the middle of the week? I’m sick as a dog. Fever, sore and scratchy throat, someone stuffed cotton and gravel in my mouth, coughing spasms. All the cool stuff. It’s so much fun. I think I managed to give it to several people at work before being able to clear my schedule enough to head home this afternoon. And even then, I’m not totally resting. I’m making comments on the 77 papers I was reading last week. Everyone passed, but I need to make comments before I return the papers.<\/p>\n
The bright spot? I haven’t been hungry all week. This is unusual for me. I’ve been forcing myself to drink water, because I’m finding several ways to dehydrate myself — thankfully none of them horribly unpleasant (fingers crossed for that NOT to be next).<\/p>\n
If I don’t see comments for several days, I may have inadvertently locked you out as I was dealing with the SpamBot (not to be confused with FemBots of Austin Powers fame). If my regular readers would drop a quick “how do” in the comments, then I would rest easier knowing I haven’t unintentionally silenced anyone.
