I’ve worked on Threads & Ties<\/em> revisions. Chapter 2 is way too large. I’m looking for a division scheme to break it up beyond years. So far, I’ve got “Fall Semester 1978” (Chapter 2) and “Christmas Break 1978” (Chapter 3). I’ve found another 1500 words earmarked for deletion. I have to read the scene to make sure it contains nothing critical for advancing the story. It’s purpose was to show changes taking place in Nikki. That might be important enough to warrant keeping, but Nikki’s high school friend was cut from an earlier scene, so she just shows up here. At the moment, I don’t have plans for the friend to have a future role in the story, but as I type this, there might be a way to change that–but do I want to? I’m not sure.<\/p>\n

I need to make a quick trip back to Chapter 1, a critiquer pointed out a glaring inconsistency that has been nagging at me, too, so I need to fix that. Shouldn’t take too much work…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
