Yesterday was\u00a0 a long day, but when I returned from my last guest speaker dinner for work for the foreseeable future, I settled in to write in my journal notebook for an hour.\u00a0 Within minutes, I have to say I was thrilled.\u00a0 Ideas came pouring onto the page.\u00a0 Backstory, characterization, ideas for threads in the middle of the book (where I’ve been stuck) — six handwritten pages worth.\u00a0 The only bad news?\u00a0 I didn’t write any of this in my Threads and Ties notebook.\u00a0 Oh, well.\u00a0 At least I wrote it!<\/p>\n
Then, when I couldn’t sleep and I was watching the Denver Nuggets get pounded by the Los Angeles Clippers and knocked out in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, I pulled out the Jeff Herman book and began a more critical analysis of the 15-20 agents\/agencies I marked as possible targets for my work.\u00a0 I was able to mark one or two as definite possibilites.\u00a0 Many more were maybes.\u00a0 All need a more thorough study — some to see if they should even be on the list and others to see how they should rank.<\/p>\n
