(Are you noticing a trend in these titles?) I don’t know what to do with this. It’s not that I don’t like it so much as I don’t think it’s appropriate for other people to read (and some of you are asking what makes me think that’s my call to make–if my name goes on the book, or my pseudonym goes on the book–this is definitely looking like a pseudonymous novel, it’s my call to make). Maybe this is something I need to get over, but the content in this…well…I don’t know what to say…I have a villain who is just obscenely twisted. And, unfortunately, it’s who he is and drives why he does what he does. I can take out the crass inside joke that cracks me up. I can mask some of the more graphic scenes–use the “less is more” approach. But what I find myself wondering is, “Shouldn’t I just polish this up and put it quietly on the shelf.” (Except that it’s my 2YN, I’d probably do that.)<\/p>\n
And if you’re wondering why I worry if I’m going to put a pseudonym on it, well, I LIKE my pseudonym. I’ve had it picked out since 1992 or before. It has a very special, personal meaning, and I don’t want to ‘dis’ it either.<\/p>\n
I’m still reading (page 168\/335). I like many parts of this. There’s just other parts that are just too real. It reads like something horrid you’d hear on the news, but without the details left out.
