I browse my website stats periodically.\u00a0 I’m accustomed to seeing the usual Operating Systems (OSes):\u00a0 Windows, Unknown, Macintosh, Linux, and even BSD.\u00a0 Even an Unknown Unix System isn’t too surprising.\u00a0 I have a couple of RISC operating systems who visit, and one I’m unfamiliar with:\u00a0 Irix (I’m guessing it’s a flavor of Unix).\u00a0 But two old, old friends showed up today that surprised me.\u00a0 Amiga OS and Commodore 64.\u00a0 Actually, Amiga OS isn’t as surprising as Commodore 64.<\/p>\n
I’m trying to imagine what browsing the web must be like on a Commodore 64.\u00a0 Frankly, I can’t imagine browsing the web on my IBM AT with my 2400 baud modem (I don’t have that one anymore).\u00a0 What modem speed are Commodore’s capable of operating with?\u00a0 I don’t think anyone is optimizing web sites for Commodore speeds.\u00a0 I know I’m not particularly considerate of dial-up access to my site, but I do try not to completely disregard their concerns.\u00a0 But Commodore?\u00a0 What’s it like?\u00a0 (Hubby still has two or three, but he finally boxed them up when he retired two years ago.)<\/p>\n
When I expand the list, I have a couple visits from Windows 3.xx versions as well as a few CE users.\u00a0 But my hat goes off to web browsing with a Commodore.\u00a0 I think that must be one determined browser.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
