Yes, I’m going home for the week and won’t be hanging out here.\u00a0 We’re looking for ’46 Mercury, ’48 Ford, or early 50’s Jeep parts; touching base with the grandkids (and the older “kid” and spouse); and hunting a “new” kitchen sink.\u00a0 I’m not sure if a visit with the younger “kid” is in order for this trip or not.<\/p>\n
We think we’ve found a place that should have just what we’re looking for.\u00a0 I’d really like the double drainboard version, but, depending upon its measurements, we may have to go with a single, left-side drainboard version.\u00a0 We have a new French door refrigerator and a 1950’s Kenmore gas range with double oven (one gas and one electric) with a center griddle\/rotisserie.\u00a0 This sink is the piece de resistance in completing the work triangle of our kitchen redesign.\u00a0 Finding the right sink is high on our priority list for this trip.\u00a0 Hopefully, it will be in Gonzales.<\/p>\n
Why this sink?\u00a0 My paternal grandparents had a sink like this (left drain-board version) in their basement.\u00a0 Hubby’s grandmother had one in her kitchen.\u00a0 (I suspect the one in my grandparent’s basement had been in the kitchen at some point before my time.)\u00a0 Because of these memories, this type of sink has a strong appeal for both of us.
