I spent the evening pondering potential investment moves I might make with one of my retirement accounts.\u00a0 I decided I didn’t like everything the guy recommended, but I do need to diversify, so I did a little research and will most likely discuss options tomorrow and possibly make some adjustments.\u00a0 I should be able to add risk and safety at the same time, if that makes sense.
\nIn a purely fun vein, I have a small account; I call it my “lotto” fund — back in 1997, I took the money I was spending on Scratch Off Bingo in NYC and began investing it in an aggressive growth account.\u00a0 It’s doing better than scratch off lotto tickets ever did for me, but since it’s “lotto” money, I don’t really worry what happens to it (a useful thing for an aggressive growth strategy).\u00a0 He recommended something much more conservative than I wanted for that account, but I think I found the perfect way to diversify.\u00a0 Right now, the fund is rated as “aggressive.”\u00a0 I found what appears to be a solid fund rated “very aggressive.”\u00a0 I think I’m going to reallocate part of my aggressive fund into the very aggressive realm and live really dangerously.<\/p>\n
I have about ten years before I need to reign these accounts in, but the “lotto” fund might be able to go longer — I’ll have to see.<\/p>\n
Work is still distracting me from writing, revising, and creativity.\u00a0 At the moment, it’s sucking the life out of me, and I don’t see it letting up soon.\u00a0 MRIs are scheduled on both knees on Friday.\u00a0 I only expect confirmation of the already obvious osteoarthritis.\u00a0 I have two people deploying this week, one person next week, and at least one, probably more, going into the pipeline to head to the Sand Box in the next couple of months.\u00a0 I have lots of processes to get documented and ready to turn over to somebody who hasn’t been identified to replace me yet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
