In no particular order, here are some of the things I’m thinking about today.<\/p>\n
\n- I’m wondering why I can’t find today’s front page San Antonio Express-News story about Henry Cisneros and his role in the current housing crisis on the website….<\/li>\n
- Maybe it won’t get posted until later — wait, I found it in the NY Times (may require free registration to read).\u00a0 In short, the story discussed what Mr. Cisneros did after being ousted as HUD Secretary during the Clinton years.\u00a0 It highlighted that he got himself onto two corporate boards (KB Homes and Countrywide Mortgage) so he could further his efforts initiated during his HUD tenure of making home ownership easier for lower income people.\u00a0 Interesting trail right back to the Democratic Party for the mortgage crisis.\u00a0 Mr. Cisneros has a history of questionable dealings back to the days when he was mayor of San Antonio in the 1980s (and probably before).<\/li>\n
- I’ve mentioned my plan to purchase a MacBookPro for my next computer purchase on this page before now.\u00a0 I read a letter to MacGuy today that made me reconsider that idea.\u00a0 The letter only remotely relates to me, except to mention that the MacMini costs $599.\u00a0 That got me to thinking.\u00a0 The MacBookPro I”m looking at will run me about $4000 after I get it configured and accessorized the way I want it.\u00a0 I don’t even know if I’m going to like Mac or Leopard.\u00a0 Maybe I should look at a less expensive experiment before I take the big plunge.\u00a0 I have a wonderful LCD monitor that I’m using on my Wii right now.\u00a0 It would work on both systems just fine.\u00a0 Keyboards and mice are easy to find.\u00a0 Why don’t I pick up a Mac Mini and see how it goes?<\/li>\n
- The Spurs who are fighting for a roster spot this year continued to make the decision tough for Coach Pop last night.<\/li>\n
- Ohio State football is looking good.\u00a0 I know everyone hates to hear that after their Bowl Championship Series performances for the last two years, but I remain hopeful.<\/li>\n
- I’ve checked over the sample ballot and am read to head to the polls to cast my ballot tomorrow when Texas’ Early Voting opens.<\/li>\n
- Taking the truck in first thing for its 30K mile service and to have them try to find why there’s a nasty shimmy in the front end — especially when going down West Virginia mountains and brakes need to be applied.<\/li>\n
- Looking forward to getting the kids back from the kennel tomorrow.\u00a0 The cats may not speak to us for an hour or so, but I think they’ll forgive us.<\/li>\n
- My dad has knee (left) replacement surgery tomorrow morning.\u00a0 I have no reason to believe it won’t go well, but please keep him in your thoughts and\/or prayers tomorrow and for the next few weeks while he recovers.\u00a0 I plan to leave Tuesday morning and should be there to help them out by Thursday afternoon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
