It’s been a quick week in San Antonio.\u00a0 We head back to Central Texas tomorrow.\u00a0 Hubby has a dentist appointment on Thursday.\u00a0 We’ll be there for a week, then come back to SA to party for Fiesta and catch the New Braunfels Swap Meet.\u00a0 I’ll get a chance to meet with a friend coming into town before I have to head back to Wisconsin at the end of the month — Dad’s having his other knee replaced, and I’ll be helping out for a couple of weeks.\u00a0 During that time, I’ll be offline for most of the time.<\/p>\n
We’ve finished the taxes, but we’ll go through them one more time before we get the check cut that has to accompany the forms.\u00a0 We got the check for our first quarter 2009 payment ready to send in today — paying a little more this year than last in hopes of honing in even better on what we’ll owe.\u00a0 We figure it’s our first payment on the stimulus Congress has saddled us with.\u00a0 Who knew retired college professors and mid-level military officers were “rich”?<\/p>\n
We’re making progress in getting the antique vehicles out of here.\u00a0 We loaded two flat-head V-8s onto the trailer today then filled in the trailer with various bits and pieces and four bags of leaves I vacuumed from the yard earlier this week.\u00a0 We still have two vehicles, two bodies, and a couple of scooters to get moved to Central Texas.\u00a0 Then, of course, there are parts we need to schlep up there.<\/p>\n
Oh, yeah, and we have to get the attic vent sealed — hopefully while the raccoon that has taken up residence is out of the house.\u00a0 Maybe we’ll get to that when we come back next week.\u00a0 I’m sure that will be fun.<\/p>\n
Oh, wait.\u00a0 One more thing.\u00a0 We stopped at a yard sale this week and found library ladders — exactly what we were looking for when we remodel the Central Texas house kitchen.\u00a0 It has really tall ceilings, and we want to put cabinets to the ceiling, but the only way to make that practical is with ladders.\u00a0 What better way to access than a library ladder system?\u00a0 Hubby was thrilled with that find.\u00a0 And I have to admit I was too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
