For the fifteenth day of 30 Days of Me, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re (hopefully) having some fun by putting the iPod on shuffle and itemizing the first ten songs that play. In theory, I would just fire up iTunes and play on shuffle, but iTunes is \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Not Responding\u00e2\u20ac\u009d right now. It likes to go on vacation without approval. Kind of a temperamental app, if you ask me. But nobody asked me, and Apple seems rather fond of it. Too bad.<\/p>\n
Not a problem. I have an actual iPod sitting right here. First up:<\/p>\n
1. Fool For Your Love<\/em> by Mickey Gilley from 19 Hot Country Requests, Volume I, a compilation album, released in February, 1986. Not too bad.<\/p>\n 2. Life in the Fast Lane<\/em> by The Eagles from Hotel California. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s okay.<\/p>\n 3. Mistral Wind<\/em> by Heart from their Greatest Hits album. Eh.<\/p>\n 4. Saturday Night\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Alright for Fighting<\/em> by Elton John from one of his Greatest Hits albums. This one\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s okay.<\/p>\n 5. I Dream Alone<\/em> by Little River Band from the Get Lucky album. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve always liked this one.<\/p>\n 6. Just in Case<\/em> by The Forrester Sisters from their Greatest Hits album. I like this one, but it doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have any personal meaning for me (I never wanted anyone to change their mind and come back to me.).<\/p>\n 7. Gone Crazy<\/em> by Alan Jackson from High Mileage. This is not my favorite run of shuffle plays. This is a good sad song, but I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not sad, so that might be part of it.<\/p>\n 8. 20 Fans<\/em> by Dolly Parton from the soundtrack for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.<\/p>\n 9. The Hyphen<\/em> by John Wayne from America, Why I Love Her. I happen to agree that the hyphen, when referring to types of Americans is divisive. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d to well to listen to this album periodically. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153United we stand; divided we fall. We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re Americans, and that says it all.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n 10. Long, Long Way from Home<\/em> by Foreigner from Records.
