We lost Hershey in a driveway accident this afternoon.\u00a0 He got too close to the wheel as hubby was backing out.\u00a0 No external injuries, but Dr. Valerie diagnosed a broken pelvis (fixable) and a severed spinal cord just above the base of the tail (not fixable).\u00a0 She hoped the break was close enough to the tail where he would still be able to urinate and defecate appropriately, but it was not.<\/p>\n

I brought his body home, and we buried him under the cedar tree in the side yard.\u00a0 I considered the ranch first, because he loved being out there, but hubby was afraid something would dig him up out there. Here he is from a few years ago, lounging against the fence at the Alabama house.<\/p>\n
