There we have it.\u00a0 Two thousand words today.\u00a0 Well, forty words shy.\u00a0 No matter.\u00a0 My characters rebelled and plotted my assassination.\u00a0 They took matters into their own hands and performed unspeakable acts with one another.\u00a0 Apparently, they were completely dissatisfied with my handling of things.\u00a0 That’s fine.\u00a0 I am completely dissatisfied with the way the whole book has been going.\u00a0 There’s always a few unspeakable acts in any book.\u00a0 It’s first draft.\u00a0 Those things can be revised later.<\/p>\n
For now, we’re on track.\u00a0 I have three scenes left in the book.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 I realize I’ve written less than half the words allotted for the book.\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 I realize this is a SERIOUS PROBLEM.\u00a0 I’ll deal with it later.\u00a0 Probably in about two or three days — or less.\u00a0 That’s just the way things go.<\/p>\n
This book stinks.\u00a0 The characters have been too restrained.\u00a0 I haven’t allowed them to be themselves, and they heartily resent me for it.\u00a0 I think that will be very interesting when I go back to earlier scenes in the book and begin to flesh them out.\u00a0 I’m looking forward to seeing what happens when I do that.\u00a0 It might be messy…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
