I love to hear “I’ll be back” or “I’ve put you on my favorites” from real readers; however, I hate reading it on comment spam posts. That’s the type of chatty comment spammers write in their comment spam to make the unwary blogger think someone’s actually visited their site and found what they had to say thought-provoking. Ha! Fat chance!<\/p>\n
Since previously unapproved comments on this site all go to moderation, spam posts never see the light of day, and thus, don’t get picked up on search engines (and supposedly, WordPress is configured so that doesn’t happen even if I did let them post). Since I do sometimes get new real commenters, I have to personally scan all their crud to make sure I don’t miss a legitimate commenter. That’s the only real hassle. <\/p>\n
I think all the plug-ins just send suspected spam to moderation anyway, so there’s no point in installing one and adding the complication to the site. If someone knows of a Plug-In that works like Yahoo’s spam email catcher or Earthlink’s Spaminator, please let me know, and I’ll investigate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
