Today did not begin well. My watch alarm sounded at 0530 as it does every day. I shut it off. As I do every day. At 0615 I peered at the clock thinking, I need to get up. I don’t do this every day. I’m late, I should be heading out the door. I don’t have time to walk Hershey. <\/p>\n
A few minutes later, I got up, put on my PT gear, let Hershey outside (we had frost warnings last night), fed him, and packed my lunch. I loaded my BDU uniform and gym bag (efficiently packed the night before) into the back seat. I opened the garage door, loaded myself into the driver seat, and backed out of the garage to the street, closing the door behind me. I headed for work. <\/p>\n
Approximately 30 minutes later I’m there. I park. I open the back door to pull out my stuff. I realize my lunch is on the kitchen counter. I growl. I go into work. Our admin assistant has finished her workout and is drinking her coffee at her desk. I growl in her doorway. Tell her I’m grumpy, and go to my office and unload office stuff from my gym bag. I head upstairs, deciding to drop my stuff in the bathroom and head down the hall and do a minimal workout. As I head out the door, I spy a student’s blue uniform. I stop. I realize I’ve brought the wrong uniform. I growl again. I pick up my stuff, go downstairs, growl my observation to our admin. She says she noticed that but decided not to tell me (understandably, since I’d just growled at her; I’d never done that before). I must go home. I tell her I’ll be back. I drop my BDU uniform and gym bag in my office–at least I have tomorrow’s uniform ready. I begin to leave the building. <\/p>\n
I turn around. With my luck I’ll get stopped, and I need my driver license. I finally make it out of the building, across town, and am in the shower at home by 0730. Dressed in the proper uniform and with my lunch, I am on the road returning to work by 0800. I arrive back at the office, ready for today by 0830. Wasn’t that fun? Oh yeah, now that most people have arrived, I have to park on the far back 40 and hike in. Not a big deal, it’s the only exercise I’ve really gotten today; it just adds insult to injury.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
