So hubby found an iPod nano on the streets of Chicago over Thanksgiving. It still worked, but the bottom half of the screen is damaged. After purchasing a USB to iPod cable (Apple has decided to abandon FireWire for these guys, I guess, because, while I can charge the nano in my FireWire G3 dock, I can’t synchronize it), I was able to wipe the memory of the 20-something rap\/pop selections and load in 584 of my personal favorites. It works great.<\/p>\n
It takes days for my 256M MP3 player to rotate through my list of favorites; I can imagine how long it will take this critter to repeat.<\/p>\n
If I want to fix the screen? $115 will do it. I think I’ll see how this one holds up. I can see the battery level, the clock, and when power is on. Since I play a continuous shuffle, nothing else really matters.<\/p>\n
