The upgrade went smoothly, but, operator error highlighted the value of backing up files before beginning any upgrade. I finished backup of the database and site files. Then I proceeded to begin FTPing the new files to the site, but I forgot to deactivate plugins first. I restored the old files, accessed the site, deactivated plugins, and resumed overwriting old files with new files.<\/p>\n
Everything appears to be operating smoothly. So far, the changes must have been behind the scenes, because everything looks normal visually.<\/p>\n
