Shiny new years are so much fun.\u00a0 Filled with hope and dreams.\u00a0 2012 is no different.<\/p>\n
Here are some of my “Big Rocks”:<\/p>\n
February:\u00a0 Help my folks move into their new house — excited for them that after a number of years, they are home owners again<\/p>\n
April:\u00a0 Hubby celebrates 3\/4 of a century on this earth.\u00a0 Pretty exciting stuff.<\/p>\n
May:\u00a0 Grand Tour 2012.\u00a0 Our Amtrak trip from San Antonio to LA to Seattle to Chicago, and back to SA.\u00a0 We have stops planned in LA with a side trip to San Diego.\u00a0 We’ll overnight in Seattle.\u00a0 We’ll exit the train in Sandpoint, ID, so I get a chance to finally meet up with Valerie and her family while hubby remains in Sandpoint relaxing for the weekend.\u00a0 We’ll get back on the train and off in Chicago and visit the Iowa location of Antique Archeology and spend a weekend with my folks before catching another train back to San Antonio.<\/p>\n
May\/June: Granddaughter and nephew graduate from high school.<\/p>\n
October:\u00a0 The annual trek to Hershey, PA, and Lanternvention 2012.<\/p>\n
Year-long big rocks:<\/p>\n
I’m still revising Polar Bear on the Loose<\/em>.\u00a0 Once again, my goal is to finish this revision this year.<\/p>\n Study writing craft and practice it in small exercises — maybe work on some short story writing?<\/p>\n Overall personal health and fitness<\/p>\n Various property projects that are ongoing in Central Texas and San Antonio.<\/p>\n Smaller rocks:<\/p>\n Once again, I have a goal of reading 50 books this year.<\/p>\n I’m reading Durant’s History of Civilization — <\/em>a bunch of volumes; it will take me years to read it, but it’s filling a huge hole in my education.<\/p>\n I’m reading The Federalist Papers<\/em> by email subscription.<\/p>\n Declutter office and library<\/p>\n Photograph and inventory Fenton thumbprint glassware<\/p>\n Those are the larger rocks for the year.\u00a0 I should be plenty busy.\u00a0 How about you?\u00a0 What are your plans for 2012?\u00a0 If you’ve already posted, feel free to post a link.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Shiny new years are so much fun.\u00a0 Filled with hope and dreams.\u00a0 2012 is no different.
