{"id":5373,"date":"2012-03-27T16:23:02","date_gmt":"2012-03-27T21:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polarbear60.org\/randr\/?p=5373"},"modified":"2016-12-10T15:15:50","modified_gmt":"2016-12-10T21:15:50","slug":"house-comparison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jeanschara.com\/pmtoo\/house-comparison\/","title":{"rendered":"House Comparison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I mentioned getting the second color coat on the front wall of the house in my last post.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a picture (by the way, you can always click on the thumbnails in the post for a larger picture if you want more detail):<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12582\" src=\"https:\/\/pmtoo.jeanschara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSCF0650-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"house\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I periodically take a shot of the house from a particular perspective.\u00a0 This gives us some idea of how it changes over time.\u00a0 Some changes we realize and others are interesting to note.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s compare two pictures.\u00a0 The first is from the day we closed on the house in mid-March 2007:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12585\" src=\"https:\/\/pmtoo.jeanschara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/House-front-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"house\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This next shot is from today, March 27, 2012 (five years and nearly two weeks\u00a0 later for the mathematically challenged):<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12583\" src=\"https:\/\/pmtoo.jeanschara.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DSCF0651-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"house\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What are some of the differences you notice?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes, the front wall is painted a different color<\/li>\n<li>The front steps are in terrible shape<\/li>\n<li>The mailbox has been added in preparation for tearing out the front steps (we have a mail slot by the front door, so we have to provide a place to deliver mail while we&#8217;re working)<\/li>\n<li>Some foliage has been removed from the front foundation<\/li>\n<li>The gates have been added at the corner of the fence<\/li>\n<li>A brick from the chimney is on the porch roof<\/li>\n<li>The old heating-AC unit has been replaced with a heat pump (that&#8217;s the downstairs unit &#8212; around back are two units that handle the upstairs, which still need to be replaced)<\/li>\n<li>It may not be easy to see, but there was a tree where the driveway (tan trailer) is now<\/li>\n<li>More paint has fallen off the upstairs fishscale<\/li>\n<li>A couple pieces of wooden trim have come loose<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What have I missed?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"border-radius: 2px;
