Welcome back for another installment of the Merry-Go-Round Blog Tour. I hope you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been staying hydrated as you make the rounds (or, if you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re in the Southern Hemisphere, staying warm). This month I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m supposed to reflect on what I do best as it relates to writing.<\/p>\n
I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been told I write some pretty compelling characters. My friend Stephen wants to date Hilda, one of my cyberterror fighting characters (I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m afraid to ask why, but I think it has something to do with her, ahem, interest in, um, unusual practices that are only hinted at in the story.) If you want to find Twilight-related posts, go here.) Then there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the influence of my talking polar bear, Inuit. She had her own blog (I shut her down, but you can read the archives here) and her own (mostly inactive) Twitter account. One or two people have told me she can be captivating, and that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s before she uses her teeth or claws.<\/p>\n
I hope I can write compelling characters. There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s nothing more satisfying to me than finishing a novel and wishing I could hang out with the characters and find out what happens next in their lives. If I were able to write characters people wanted to know more about, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d be thrilled.<\/p>\n
At this point, I still believe the thing I do best is write well technically. I can write a sentence and punctuate it correctly. Sadly, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been able to do that since high school. Not sadly because I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been able to do that for so long, but sadly because perhaps I have not developed beyond that skill.<\/p>\n
