{"id":581,"date":"2012-04-27T00:32:25","date_gmt":"2012-04-27T05:32:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jeanschara.com\/?p=581"},"modified":"2012-04-27T00:32:25","modified_gmt":"2012-04-27T05:32:25","slug":"x-is-for-xanadu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jeanschara.com\/pmtoo\/x-is-for-xanadu\/","title":{"rendered":"X is for Xanadu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Defined as a place of great beauty, luxury, and contentment.\u00a0 Alternatively, an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lyricsdepot.com\/olivia-newton-john\/xanadu.html\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Newton-John song from the 1978 hit movie &#8220;Grease<\/a>.&#8221; \u00a0Not Xanadu.<\/p>\n<p>Like Utopia, Xanadu isn&#8217;t a very realistic expectation.\u00a0 To make a Utopia experience, a whole lot of people have to do things they may or may not want to be doing.\u00a0 There&#8217;s nothing wrong with what they&#8217;re doing, but for every towel boy and serving person who thinks those jobs are Utopia, there are a dozen who&#8230;don&#8217;t.\u00a0 And, if your Utopian experience includes someone to pick up your towel for you at poolside and to serve you your meals, chances are, it&#8217;s not Utopia for everyone.\u00a0 In fact, for one person to have a Utopian or Xanadu-like experience, hundreds live in misery.\u00a0 Is that Xanadu for everyone or just you?\u00a0 Are you the kind of person who could enjoy Xanadu full-time realizing it wasn&#8217;t that way for everyone?\u00a0 I hope not.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, I believe everyone deserves some time in Xanadu.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a way to refresh our souls and prepare ourselves for the decidedly un-Xanaduian world we find ourselves occupying.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Defined as a place of great beauty, luxury, and contentment.\u00a0 Alternatively, an Olivia Newton-John song from the 1978 hit movie &#8220;Grease.&#8221; \u00a0Not Xanadu.
