Thanks to Tammy for providing the real Pretty Boy Floyd’s sisters’ names. I decided to use a variation for our Pretty Boy Floyd’s sisters. Our quarantined sister, for going all Delta Force on the vet staff, has earned the name, Delta (but she doesn’t really fit that mode–she’s just a scared kitty). Rossie seemed to fit the tabby, so that’s what we’re calling her. Rossie is also kind of a scared kitty, but they are both coming around. Ruby Mae was the name chosen for the last kitten captured. Delta and Ruby Mae are Bengal-patterned kitties with dark calico coloring. Rossie is a dark tabby with a light cream bib and copper highlights. Floyd is a handsome orange tabby pattern with a winning smile. He’s a true sweetie and socializing well.

I’ve been able to handle Delta, Rossie, and Ruby Mae. Ruby Mae is a tiny, tiny kitty with an appetite. I’m hoping she begins putting on a little weight — not a lot, but I’d feel better if she had a little meat on her bone. She follows behind Floyd in everything and is the next most sociable kitty. She’s catching up with him rapidly. Delta and Rossie are less anxious to be socialized, but I think they will come around.

Floyd loves to rough house with his sisters. And they’re getting more comfortable playing with him around us. It’s nice to see tumbling kitties. Delta was starting to scratch on the rug inside the back door, so I put some fresh catnip on the scratch box and put it on the rug to encourage her to scratch there. Floyd fell in love, as you can see above, but the next day, Delta was doing her scratching there instead of on the rug. In the lower right corner of the picture above, you can see the maze hubby built for the kittens. They ignored it yesterday, but today (Friday), they’ve all played in it. Delta was the first to find her way through it.

Ruby was the first to voluntarily venture into the maze. Now I find all the girls taking refuge in there.

You’ve been hearing a lot about feral kitties lately.
