I’m not sure what the kittens weighed when I trapped them.\u00a0 Ruby (the obvious smallest) and Delta (not sure if she or Floyd is larger, but it’s probably Floyd) volunteered to be weighed today.\u00a0 I used the subtraction method.\u00a0 The scale we have here measures in half-pound increments, so there’s a significant chance for error in rounding.\u00a0 Ruby weighs two pounds.\u00a0 Delta weighs three and a half pounds.\u00a0 Using Ruby and Delta as a gauge, Rossie is probably close to three pounds, and Floyd is probably around three and a half to four pounds. I suspect they’ve doubled in size since I captured them.<\/p>\n
Delta is the best medicine taker of any cat I’ve ever had to give medicine to.\u00a0 She doesn’t really want to do it, but she easily opens her mouth and takes the eyedropper contents without complaint.\u00a0 I haven’t heard her cough for at least a day and a half, so maybe it’s doing some good.\u00a0 Or the virus has run it’s course.\u00a0 Either way, I’m happy to not hear her cough.\u00a0 Natasha has a chronic cough, and it’s troubling to hear.<\/p>\n
Rossie isn’t disappearing into her carrier as quickly as she used to when we’re around the crate, and I opened and closed the door a couple of times a few minutes ago, and she stayed lounging on top of the carrier.\u00a0 This is a huge step forward for her.<\/p>\n
Delta, Floyd, and Ruby are all accepting holding time with hubby now, so they’re dealing well with more than just me.\u00a0 Delta just played with my fingers through the bars of the crate for several minutes and sought out more play time that way. Floyd and Ruby will do that to a lesser extent.<\/p>\n
They all love their little crackle fish.\u00a0 I’m going to have to find some more of those.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
