The weekly cat missive.\u00a0 Today we’ll talk about each cat individually to see what’s up with them.<\/p>\n

Natasha is seeking warm places.\u00a0 She’s been pretty relaxed overall.\u00a0 She’s tolerating the kittens, although they extend her respect.<\/p>\n

Ajax is Ajax.\u00a0 A little needy. A little jumpy.\u00a0 Watching with his soulful eyes. He spends a lot of time on the corner of the bed.<\/p>\n

Lady seems to be tolerating Floyd better.\u00a0 She still goes after the other kittens if they don’t defer to her.\u00a0 She seems as if she’s feeling better.\u00a0 I hope her followup vet appointment goes well on the 12th.<\/p>\n

Tarzan is wrestling with Floyd.\u00a0 He can clearly beat Floyd whenever he wants to, but Floyd is getting some good practice with Tarzan that he doesn’t get against the girls who are now slightly smaller than him.<\/p>\n

Floyd is still the most dynamic of the kittens.\u00a0 He has adapted best to life with humans.\u00a0 He’s delightful, engaging, and very observant.\u00a0 He wants to fit in with the big cats, and that includes interacting with humans.\u00a0 He makes overtures to, and has mostly won over Lady and Natasha to the point where they don’t openly attack him.\u00a0 He’s a charmer.\u00a0 Floyd usually sleeps stretched out against my legs.<\/p>\n

Delta is the cat I most picture someone dressing up in cat clothes and playing with.\u00a0 She is very laid back.\u00a0 Still a little skittish when being reached for, but more often than not, she’ll let you hold her until you’re done and she’ll act like she enjoys it.\u00a0 I think she’s going to be a chunky girl, but we’ll see.\u00a0 I envision her the size of Lady when she’s fully grown.\u00a0 Delta will sometimes join me on the bed, but usually for short periods of time.<\/p>\n

Ruby Mae is a curiosity.\u00a0 She’ll resist being petted and handled right up until you touch her, then she begs for more.\u00a0 She’s growing and filling out, but she’s still the smallest of the four kittens.<\/p>\n

Rossie concerns me the most.\u00a0 She’s growing into an attractive cat.\u00a0 She’s going to look a lot like her daddy, who has long legs and a long, lean body.\u00a0 Until this week, even though she had the run of the house, I could usually find her in the parlor.\u00a0 Two days ago, she started disappearing, and I suspect she’s found a hiding place somewhere in the house. She still comes down for meals, water, etc., but I don’t know where she’s hanging out.\u00a0 I don’t know if it’s best to just let her be and hope she’ll come around, or if we’re going to have a ghost cat for years to come here.\u00a0 She’s healthy.\u00a0 She’s an excellent house cat.\u00a0 She just shuns human attention.\u00a0 Kitty (~1979 – 1992) was sort of like that, and she turned out to be a very good kitty oh so many years ago.\"Kitty,<\/p>\n

The kittens are still up on the vet’s bulletin board as looking for a home, but I’m not worried about whether we get a call or not.<\/p>\n

As for the outside ferals, I’ve seen Sneaky and Peaches playing across the street.\u00a0 The food is disappearing, but I haven’t seen anyone eating it.\u00a0 I have no idea where Little Orange is, but I imagine she’s around somewhere.\u00a0 The daddy cat lives kitty corner across the street, and that seems to be his home and his people.\u00a0 He’s very comfortable when the people walk around him.\u00a0 I’ve never seen him bothering the feral food here, so he’s also polite.\u00a0 I’ve made no progress in trapping Sneaky — I haven’t tried.\u00a0 I fear she may have a litter of kittens, but I have no way of knowing yet.\u00a0 Or, maybe not since I only see her with Peaches, and he’s not going to be making any kittens.\u00a0 But the daddy cat is very viable, so I don’t harbor any illusions that they wouldn’t get together when the time is right.<\/p>\n
