The Imagination Prompt<\/a> for today is: If I could live in any era of history and ten reasons why may be it.\u00a0 There are a lot of historical eras that would be interesting to visit, but, while I lament our current times as the likely end of the United States as it was founded, I’m not sure I’d want to live in any other era.\u00a0 I considered living earlier in the 20th Century — my grandparent’s era.\u00a0 So many discoveries were made and so many changes happened during their lifetimes, but I know even then many people considered it End Times.\u00a0 I have to believe so much of what I’m feeling is a generational thing and somehow, despite my resistance to change, the world will stumble forward.<\/p>\n

If something is going to happen to bring about the end of the world, so be it.\u00a0 There isn’t much I can do to stop it.\u00a0 I believe the same about so-called man-made global warming.\u00a0 It’s pretty vain to think we can have a significant impact on the earth.\u00a0 On the other hand, there’s no reason to purposefully trash our environment, either.\u00a0 It makes sense to take reasonable measures to ensure we have clean air and water.<\/p>\n

The more I think about or investigate various eras, the more I realize each has problems and joys that accompany it.\u00a0 Of course, visiting from other eras would only cause problems and increase confusion, so its best to remain in my own era, fighting through the uncertainties and dealing with the unknowns.\u00a0 Eventually, all will become known, so I think a desire to travel to a different era is more out of a desire to experience a known quantity.\u00a0 Unfortunately, once you travel there, it’s no longer a known quantity, because the information that makes the history books is so limited.\u00a0 It would be a much more multi-dimensional experience in person and far more confusing that we might think.<\/p>\n
