These are &#8220;new&#8221; boards, installed when the previous owners renovated the house to create a bathroom and an outside closet on the back porch.\u00a0 Something happened, and these boards have a significant amount of rot in them, and they do not match the rest of the house, so we&#8217;ll make the replacement boards, install them, primer them, and paint them the new house color.<\/p>\n<p>What do I mean when I say &#8220;make&#8221; the boards?\u00a0 This house was built in 1900.\u00a0 The ship lap boards used then are not made anymore.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve found modern decking boards come the closest.\u00a0 We shave a little off one side and shave a little off one edge to get the dimensions right.\u00a0 Then we rout the laps into each edge, and they are an almost indistinguishable replacement that integrates into the existing house boards very nicely.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px\/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c  no-repeat scroll 3px 50% \/ 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;\">Save<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The side of the house is our house project for this year: This wall needs to be replaced.
