{"id":6263,"date":"2013-05-26T19:54:10","date_gmt":"2013-05-27T00:54:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polarbear60.org\/randr\/?p=6263"},"modified":"2016-02-11T15:07:59","modified_gmt":"2016-02-11T21:07:59","slug":"cats-weekend-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jeanschara.com\/pmtoo\/cats-weekend-party\/","title":{"rendered":"Cats: Weekend Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We left the cats alone for a long weekend.\u00a0 We confine them to two rooms of the house while we&#8217;re gone, but, well, sometimes that doesn&#8217;t work.\u00a0 The house does some settling, and at certain times of the year, some doors will stay closed and others won&#8217;t.\u00a0 Which doors varies with the time of year.\u00a0 At the moment, the parlor door is the one which doesn&#8217;t latch.\u00a0 So we blocked it closed with a large piece of cardboard and a box.\u00a0 But the box wasn&#8217;t heavy enough to prevent certain cats from moving it (I&#8217;m looking at you, Tarzan).\u00a0 When we got home, the door was slightly ajar (but the cardboard was still blocking easy ingress and egress.\u00a0 I&#8217;m surprised most of the cats were where they belonged when we got home.\u00a0 I think Tarzan was the only one missing for certain, and he was probably lounging somewhere upstairs.<\/p>\n<p>All four of the kittens looked at us like we were aliens.\u00a0 So much for memories.\u00a0 Delta and Floyd weren&#8217;t too bad.\u00a0 One set of curtains was knocked down behind a dresser we have in front of one of the parlor windows.\u00a0 I was trying to pick it up to put it back across the window, but I was having trouble lifting it.\u00a0 It turns our Rossie was holding it down (she was under that dresser when we left for the weekend, too, but I don&#8217;t think she stayed under there all weekend).\u00a0 Once I disturbed her too much, she bolted, but she bolted to the kitchen.\u00a0 I closed the swinging door behind me to block her in there, and I discovered Ruby was there as well, also looking like she thought I was ready to eat her.\u00a0 I captured Ruby and began calming her down.\u00a0 Mr L. came in a few minutes later, and Ruby freaked.\u00a0 I recaptured her while Mr. L sought out Rossie.\u00a0 Rossie allowed him to approach and pick her up.
