It’s cold outside, so Sneaky has eaten and gone back under the house to wherever she takes refuge (probably in some insulation ripped from ductwork, but I don’t really know).<\/p>\n
I had Lady out of the cage today until I heard a “thumping” sound from the kitchen.\u00a0 I turned around, and she had wrestled the steaks I had thawing on the kitchen counter nearly out to the parlor trying to get through the freezer Zip Lock bag.\u00a0 Thankfully, she hadn’t broken through the plastic yet, and I rescued the steaks.\u00a0 Lady is a definite carnivore.\u00a0 She’s back in the cage and not complaining.\u00a0 I’m pretty sure she knows she wasn’t supposed to be doing that.<\/p>\n
Rossie and Ruby are still out and about a lot more.\u00a0 Mr. L reports Rossie has been chasing someone through the house in the early morning hours.<\/p>\n
We’re heading to San Antonio soon.\u00a0 We discussed how to handle Lady and decided to bring the second cage to San Antonio with us, set it up, and only use it if Lady attacks Rossie (mess with Rossie, and Lady immediately goes into the cage).\u00a0 We both suspect she might, but the kitty dynamics are sometimes different in San Antonio, so we want to see what will happen.\u00a0 Rossie still races through the parlor to get to the kitchen for food, but Lady isn’t responding as aggressively to Rossie moving through.\u00a0 Lady seems much less stressed in the cage.\u00a0 For instance, I opened the door to allow her out this morning, and she made no move to leave for several minutes.\u00a0 That was fine.\u00a0 We didn’t rush her, and she came out on her own a short while later.<\/p>\n
We seem to have a round of mild kitty flu going through the house.\u00a0 In turn about half the cats have been barfing.\u00a0 Such a pleasant thing.\u00a0 Those of you with cats know what I mean.\u00a0 Everyone seems to be okay today.<\/p>\n
Daphne is one confident little kitten.\u00a0 She’s growing well (four pounds when weighed for her final set of kitten shots on Monday).\u00a0 She’ll go in to be spayed in late January.\u00a0 The feral girls had their annual shots on Monday.\u00a0 Delta weighs 11 pounds, and Ruby and Rossie each weighed seven pounds.\u00a0 I was worried about how the girls would handle the trip to the vet, but they were all good as gold for Dr. Val.\u00a0 Very proud of them, especially Rossie, who was clearly scared to be there, but she was a great little patient.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
