Time for more kitty news.\u00a0 Natasha and Lady traveled to San Antonio with us this week for a quick trip.\u00a0 Lady got some much-appreciated no cage time, and both girls got as much time as they wanted to explore the back yard.\u00a0 Surprisingly, they didn’t want a lot of time.\u00a0 I suspect it’s because the grass was still damp from the rain we’d been having.\u00a0 Lady and Natasha both appreciated the time without other kitties around.\u00a0 Of course, they boxed with each other a couple of times, but they throw a few punches and go their separate ways.<\/p>\n
The rest of the horde remained in Central TX, keeping an eye on the house, which they seem to have done with minimal disruption.\u00a0 Until we got home.\u00a0 Then they had to let us know how happy they were to see us by tearing around in circles (with the door on the back stairs open, they can make a complete run through the house, upstairs, downstairs, front to back). Floyd and Tarzan got into a knock down drag out discussion that involved a lot of fur flying.\u00a0 That came right after I chewed Floyd out for tipping Lady’s water dish and making a mess (this cat has a thing for tipping water bowls and towers).\u00a0 Mr. L thinks Tarzan was disciplining him for tipping the water.\u00a0 I can only hope, but I came downstairs to Lady’s water bowl turned over this morning.<\/p>\n
The boys have been a little feisty lately.\u00a0 Maybe with Spring in the air, they’re feeling their oats — even though none of them have any “oats” to feel.\u00a0 Ajax has been backing down Tarzan.\u00a0 Tarzan has been chewing out Floyd.\u00a0 Floyd asserts himself with Tarzan, and they have a roll on the floor, fur-flying “fight” (but nobody is getting hurt, so I think they’re just settling a little pecking order dispute), then Floyd slinks off — still the low boy on the totem pole, I’m afraid.<\/p>\n
When I let Lady out of her cage in the morning (she’s still on halfway house rules until we can go more than a week without an incident with Rossie), Daphne walks in, sits down, and looks at me.\u00a0 She’s waiting for her kitten food (which we got her in the habit of eating in the cage to keep the big cats from swiping it from her.\u00a0 I put a handful of kitten food in the bowl for her to eat and close the door (but not latch it).\u00a0 I’m not sure what I’ll do when I run out of the bag of kitten food.\u00a0 I guess we’ll continue the process with a handful of regular food.\u00a0 Her look is irresistible.<\/p>\n
Everyone is healthy and reasonably happy.\u00a0 Lady does not like taking her medicine, but we have been able to get through the distasteful process pretty quickly in the morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
