{"id":7335,"date":"2014-07-05T17:36:16","date_gmt":"2014-07-05T22:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polarbear60.org\/randr\/?p=7335"},"modified":"2014-07-05T17:36:16","modified_gmt":"2014-07-05T22:36:16","slug":"cats-divided-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jeanschara.com\/pmtoo\/cats-divided-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Cats: Divided Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve returned to Central Texas with &#8220;my half&#8221; of the kitties.\u00a0 Ajax, Rossie, Ruby, and Daphne seem to do well with Mr. L, so when we&#8217;re between houses, they stay with him.\u00a0 I take Lady, Natasha, Tarzan, Floyd, and Delta with me, because, either they prefer me or they cause problems of some kind for Mr. L.\u00a0 Mr. L believes Rossie will emerge from under the chair in the bedroom around Thursday.\u00a0 Usually, this is just in time for me to return with everyone, but this time, I won&#8217;t return to San Antonio until the 15th, so she&#8217;ll have a few days of relative &#8220;freedom.&#8221;\u00a0 We both hope she begins to like it well enough that she&#8217;ll insist on participating in being out and about among us.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, Ruby is much more relaxed and very approachable in San Antonio.\u00a0 She&#8217;s out and about in Central Texas, but she&#8217;s not approachable.\u00a0 The only difference I can discern (besides the beloved garden window in the kitchen in San Antonio) is the San Antonio house is much smaller, so they feel more secure down there.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not just Ruby.\u00a0 The cats generally get along better down there.<\/p>\n<p>When I got down there last Monday, I released each cat one by one from its carrier, administering the July dose of Revolution to each one.\u00a0 After I finished with everyone, I got down on the floor to talk to Rossie, who had taken up residence underneath the rocking chair in the bedroom &#8212; her sanctuary of choice.\u00a0 She hissed at me, but I talked to her for a few minutes and told her I was going to reach in and pet her.\u00a0 I gave her a few minutes to adjust (they&#8217;re all jumpy after three hours in the truck), and she didn&#8217;t complain when I reached in to stroke her.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t take her long to present her chin for rubbing.\u00a0 She likes to be petted, but it&#8217;s tough to notice with how she acts sometimes.\u00a0 I hadn&#8217;t touched her for several months, but I noticed she&#8217;d gained just enough weight.\u00a0 I had planned on leaving Lady out of the cage overnight, but if Rossie is eating more with Lady tucked in for the night, that&#8217;s a good thing.\u00a0 Rossie had been on the thin side, so I decided to keep the routine of tucking Lady in at night to ensure Rossie can continue to move about unencumbered for the overnight hours.
