{"id":7342,"date":"2014-07-19T02:07:03","date_gmt":"2014-07-19T07:07:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/polarbear60.org\/randr\/?p=7342"},"modified":"2014-07-19T02:07:03","modified_gmt":"2014-07-19T07:07:03","slug":"mgr-tour-mid-year-check-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jeanschara.com\/pmtoo\/mgr-tour-mid-year-check-in\/","title":{"rendered":"MGR Tour:  Mid-Year Check-in"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Howdy, Merry Go Round Tour visitors!\u00a0 Back in January, I posted some goals, and this month, we&#8217;re checking up on how I&#8217;m doing in meeting those goals.\u00a0 A little mid-year update, if you will.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the goals I posted in January:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Finish revision of Polar Bear on the Loose, and, thus, the \u201cHow To Revise Your Novel\u201d course I started, ummmm, several years ago.<\/li>\n<li>Write 26 short stories or character sketches for the Blogging A-Z Challenge in April.<\/li>\n<li>Publish the RandR Fiction Club newsletter bi-monthly.<\/li>\n<li>Plan my next novel to revise.<\/li>\n<li>Polish five of the best stories from the A-Z Challenge and publish them as an anthology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here&#8217;s where I stand on each one:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I am on Lesson 19 in the &#8220;How To Revise Your Novel&#8221; course and the <em>Polar Bear on the Loose<\/em> revision.\u00a0 I finally finished Lesson 17 and worked quickly through Lesson 18, really liking what I found.\u00a0 These last three lessons are polishing, and I hope to make good progress through them.\u00a0 I&#8217;m optimistic this goal is on track.<\/li>\n<li>I successfully completed the April blogging challenge.\u00a0 Maybe I should begin planning for next year?<\/li>\n<li>The RandR Fiction Club newsletter is on target.\u00a0 Next issue ships on September 2.<\/li>\n<li>I have not begun to plan the next novel to revise.\u00a0 I have begun the &#8220;How To Write A Series Expansion&#8221; course, and I&#8217;m using that course to develop and write a <em>Kitty City<\/em> series.<\/li>\n<li>I have not picked five stories for an A-Z Blogging Challenge anthology yet, which means I have not published one either.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Not bad for a mid-year gut check.\u00a0 I see I have some goals I&#8217;ve drifted from, but I have time to work on them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Howdy, Merry Go Round Tour visitors!\u00a0 Back in January, I posted some goals, and this month, we&#8217;re checking up on how I&#8217;m doing in meeting those goals.\u00a0 A little mid-year update, if you will.
