You knew it was only a matter of time before I added another game camera, right? I’m pleased with the quality of the Bushnell both in construction and in picture quality. That’s a $150-200 camera (depending upon where you buy it). I searched for a less expensive one for monitoring cats on the side porch. What I found was a StealthCam. This is a 6 megapixel camera with preset positions as well as the ability to customize programming. It’s quite a bit cheaper at $79.<\/p>\n
The StealthCam is a little bulkier, comprised of lower quality construction, harder to insert and remove the SD Card, and the pictures during daylight hours look muddier. Night vision shots are crisp. It’s better than adequate for what I’m using it for — tracking visitors to Sneaky’s food and water towers. I do like the enclosed battery compartments. It doesn’t capture the temperature on the image, a detail feature I like on the Bushnell camera. The StealthCam has three presets, and I discovered my preferred setting is the first preset — 6 MP in three shot burst.<\/p>\n
