I’m not particularly interested in the Apple Watch, so I only paid cursory attention to Apple’s event on March 9th. There’s nothing wrong with the watch. It’s me. I quit wearing a watch when I retired in 2008. Don’t need one. My Fitbit has a clock (and before that, my pedometer had one), and I always carry that in my pocket. Of course, my phone has a clock and timers, and all the other things my watch had, so the watch is redundant. I don’t wear one. I certainly don’t need to spend $350 on one. I don’t think I’ve spent that much on watches in my entire life if I add all the individual watches I’ve purchased together. (Assuming, again, that you’re not calling my cell phones watches.)<\/p>\n
But the new MacBook did catch my eye. It sounded good, but then I looked at the Apple site and compared specs. I think I’ll be waiting. It’s positioned at the bottom end of the MacBook line, but pricewise, it’s a little higher.<\/p>\n
It’s main selling points? Two pound weight and retina screen. Other than that, in my opinion, the 13″ MacBook Air is a better deal.<\/p>\n
But if I didn’t already have a maxed out MacBookPro and an 11-inch MacBook Air? Would I be enticed? You may remember I have an iPad Air 2, and an iPhone 6Plus. I suspect if I didn’t already have the 11-inch MacBook Air, I might be interested in this, but since I do have the 11-inch MacBook Air, and the biggest drawback outside the tiny 64G solid state drive and 2G RAM is it’s 11-inch screen, I’m not sure the new MacBook can offset that with a retina screen. The 13-inch MacBook Air has a better battery life, and I think that might be worth more than a glorious retina screen (althoughhhhh, they are enticing).<\/p>\n
