Haanel’s intro to Part 8 this week is eye-opening.
There is therefore but one law, one principle, one cause, one Source of Power, and good and evil are simply words which have been coined to indicate the result of our action, or our compliance with this law.
The importance of this is illustrated in the lives of Emerson and Carlyle. Emerson loved the good and his life was a symphony of peace and harmony, Carlyle hated the bad, and his life was a record of perpetual discord and inharmony.
There are two more relevant paragraphs, but I hesitate to make too long a quote. In essence, hate nothing, not even the “bad” because that will bring the bad to us. What an excellent example of the Law of Growth – What I think about grows and what I forget atrophies without exception.
What do you love? Focus on that. Manifest that. What do you hate? Forgeddaboudit. “All hate is let from my veins for I have not time to hate, only time for love. ” (Mandino, Og, The Greatest Salesman in the World, p. 62.)
What do you want to manifest in your life?
Very true. Chapter 8 is one of my favorites.
I have been reading your pos as i am curious. Also collecting info so I can make a decision when the time comes. I notice you use Og Mandino often. Is that part of the course or a personal choice? I have all his books packed away somewhere but I plan to get the out after this next move at the end of the month and into October. I collected every one of his book that he wrote between the age of 21 and 28, that is my age at the time. I am 52 now. My favorite was, The Christ Commission and the first one I ever read. I hope it is okay I posted here,
The Greatest Salesman in the World is a core part of the course. You’ll need two paperback copies as part of your course materials (they will be quite dog-eared by the end, so you won’t want to use a valuable copy). I think I had all the other required course materials on hand, and you’re likely to have them, too, so don’t worry about that. I have two more GS books in preparation for starting Year 2.
Of course it’s okay to post here!
