Corneas Shaved
As far as I can tell, the procedure went very well. My doctor was quite enthused during the procedure. And as laser surgeries go, mine was longer than many–37 seconds on the right eye; 34 seconds on the left eye.
Things are still blurry, put I’m not wearing glasses, and prior to the surgery, I wouldn’t have been able to see this screen at all. It has reasonable clarity now, but I don’t think I should stay on too long.
Pain? I guess mine will start tomorrow. But I’m also treating aggressively right now. My first post-op appointment will be tomorrow morning. My ride comes to pick me up at 7:30 am.
Oh. The worst part so far? Feeling a slight pressure when they were abrading the epithelial cells from each eye and knowing what they were doing. That was only for a couple of seconds for each eye. With the laser and laser operator doing most of the work, the doctor was free to be a cheerleader, and he was wonderful.
Thank goodness they gave me clear plastic eye shields and a roll of tape. I am to wear the eye shields while I’m sleeping to keep me from rubbing my eyes. Something I’m not permitted to do for the first month. That alleviates one worry I had.
