Post-Op Day 2
Frustrating day for me. Vision is blurry, doesn’t seem to be improving. Can’t see things close up; can’t see them at a distance. Fortunately, still no pain in the eyes. Mild stinging prevails. Tearing is less than yesterday.
I could sit on the couch and see the larger Weather Channel text and the state outlines. After my evening eye drops, I could read all but the smallest text. OK. Maybe they are getting better. I also reminded myself that for reading, I’ve been wearing bifocals for the last three years. I haven’t picked up reading glasses yet. So, perhaps, I should expect some difficulty there.
I’m backing off a couple of the medications. I haven’t had any nausea, so I’m cutting that one out. I’m also cutting the narcotic back from four to three times per day. The drops are all required, so I’m sticking with them.
I’ve increased font size on the computer screen, and that makes it easier to work on-line. It’s like I have waxed paper over my eyes. That could be the bandage contact lens. If these were my contacts, I’d take them out and clean them or replace them. It doesn’t work that way with the bandage contact. If that’s the case, when they remove the bandage contacts on Friday morning, I ought revel in clarity. I hope so, anyway.
To recap: I suspect my concerns are unfounded. I’m chalking it all up to dirty bandage contact lenses and not having reading glasses. Advice to patient: stay calm until Friday.
