Eyes Aren’t Quite Good Enough
The right eye isn’t healed well enough to be released from care at Portsmouth yet. I tried to leave it with them, but they slapped another bandage contact lens on and made me bring it home. (I’m kidding, they were quite gentle.) So, here I am, fuzzy vision and all.
I remind myself that Monday morning when I woke up, my vision in both eyes was 20/700. The left eye seemed to be hovering at around 20/70 today. The right eye? I’m not sure, but it’s worse than that. And the bandage contact lens feels much better than having it exposed to the air. I go back in Monday morning, and I hope it will be well enough to release me back to Langley for after care. I’ve also arranged for a ride to work for the next couple weeks, since it looks like I may be a few more days until I improve enough to safely drive.
Thanks to those of you who’ve been offering support. Thanks to Holly for reminding me it will get better, and to my hubby who calls everyday (even more than usual) to see how I am, and to the guys at work, who have been terrific. When this all settles down, Holly is right, I’ll be a Dancing Jean. Just not quite yet
But I did cross the four lane highway in front of my housing development to go browse in Rite Aid for a few minutes (didn’t find anything I couldn’t live without). I enjoyed playing human Frogger (obviously, I won). It’s all a matter of timing the traffic light at each end of the ‘block’ to cross to the median between salvos. At least I could see images that far (don’t recommend that with 20/700 vision).
