Killing Him Softly
I’m finally getting back to Twilight. I was mulling over killing someone this week, and I finally decided to do it. My antagonist main character had an alter-ego. The more I thought about it, the more I realized he wasn’t essential to the book. I spent a few days letting the subconscious work it over. I did the find and replaces tonight–that was the easy part. Now, as I continue through the book, I have to integrate Merlin and Paul. There are a few places where I have some clean up to do, and if I miss them, the poor reader will wonder about my planet of origin. Merlin has enough problems, and I don’t need to have his personality splinter as well. I considered it. The abuse he suffered as an adolescent could have resulted in that, but I don’t think it’s essential to the plot.
Back to the work.
