NBC
I used the term “Chemical Warfare Training” yesterday, but the more correct term would have been “NBC Training.” NBC stands for “Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical.” Some of the fascinating things we learned were the four types of nuclear detonation and what to expect from each type, the types of biological and chemical agents we might encounter and which we’d “prefer” to have to deal with.
Interesting tidbit, while blood agents will kill you in 49 seconds, you’re really more concerned with nerve and blister agents. I imagine that 49 seconds would be the longest of your life, though. What are the symptoms of a blood agent? Either increased or decreased respirations, depending upon which type of blood agent you’re exposed to. Either it won’t accept the oxygen into your blood or it won’t transfer it to your cells. Either way, you’re not getting oxygen to vital organs–heart, brain, etc.
Oh, and I’m certain you know we’re all exposed to nerve agents on a regular basis. Herbicides, insect repellants, sprays designed to kill insects. You overdose on them, it’s a bad thing, and they build up in your body over time, so the cumulative effect can be very bad. I’m very glad I rarely use such items. Read the instructions on your household chemicals. You can make a huge difference in your life and the the lives of those you care about.
