Painting
Hubby has me storing a six foot bookcase. It was flat black. He wants it painted walnut. I’d procrastinated about buying the paint and getting started, but we’ve had a couple days of relative comfort temperature and humidity wise. He also found the shelf holders, and I’ll be bringing them back after next weekend. That’s incentive enough for me to go get the paint.
Of course, nobody sells walnut colored paint these days. There are a million fru-fru colors, so I compared paint chips, and I think Bird’s Nest is the right color. Home Depot mixed it up for me and picked out a primer they think will do well (Bird’s Nest is lighter than flat black, so the primer is needed). I bought the paint, primer, and brushes; made a couple other stops; and headed for home. I rearranged the garage (unpacked two boxes and found stuff that surprised me), and created a space to paint.
The first coat of primer is drying. I need to find an appropriate grade of sand paper for tomorrow. That’ll be fun. I haven’t started the shelf boards yet. When I do finish, it will be nice to have the shelves in the library. Unpacking that room is at an impasse until I get the shelves painted, dried, and moved in there.
