It’s the Conflict, Dammit
Tam makes it so simple. And, frankly, I think that’s why I was stalled with T&T. I had ten years to kill and no worthwhile conflict to help the time fly. I didn’t get any writing done this morning, but I did find a solution to no conflict. Maybe Tambo’s reminder will help. Misery awaits.
Perhaps more important, was Tam’s link to Tess Gerritsen’s Valentine’s Day post on Murder She Writes. Not only is it the conflict, but it’s the feeling. Naturally, I should quit thinking about this thing and feel it. Easier said than done. I hope it’s like learning to breathe for distance running. One day, out of the blue, you figure it out and wonder what took you so long. I hope that day comes soon.
Gosh, conflict.
Conflict is a tricky one. It’s a must for an interesting novel, and yet sometimes it’s so hard to write. I hear you and fully understand. I struggle with it occasionally too. Hope you get past this hurdle soon.
