Balancing the Scales — 2 Comments

  1. My husband just had his 2nd meniscus repair in January (tore the first one in July, had that repair in August.) He was committed to the PT regimine they gave him because he’s really active and wanted to regain full mobility to run, play tennis, etc. He said the surgeries were totally worth it for him – and he’s heard a lot of horror stories before he went in.

  2. The surgery, really, is a piece of cake (as is the physical therapy). It’s not the meniscus that’s the real problem for me. It’s the Grade IV or V arthritis. In a week and a half, I get another exam. If my PA hears the “click,” he’ll refer me to the orthopedist, and we’ll likely begin the MRI process. On the one hand, I want this–I’m reasonably certain this knee has arthritis equal to the other knee, and the MRI will validate that suspicion. On the other, it increases the likelihood that I’ll be retiring sooner rather than later. I’ll be playing that by ear.
