ISBN 10 or 13?
How many of you know how to read an ISBN? Do you even know what an ISBN is? ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. Until January 2007, it’s a ten digit number which serves as a unique catalog number for books and other print or print-type media. In January 2007, a thirteen digit number is being introduced.
I found a new blog today via Sasha White — Croco Designs. It’s a gorgeous, crisply designed site (and you can buy the design for a very reasonable price if you like it). The key entry that caught my eye was the Are You Ready for ISBN-13? post. It even includes an ISBN-13 for Dummies e-book link. I couldn’t resist. I’ve always wondered how to read an ISBN. I knew there was a way to do it, but I’d never bothered to try to find out. When it was dropped in my lap, I had to check it out.
Have you ever wondered? Go find out. It’ll never be any easier.
All I know is ISBN. Never heard of ISBN – 13. Thirteen is such an odd number. Excuse the pun.
I’m so glad you liked Fraukes site. She’s a fount of valuable imformation, and a very talented woman. š
I love her site, Sasha. I might approach her with some site design ideas, but I’m not ready, and she sounds pretty busy right now anyway. I’d like to think I could do it, but so far, my design skills are more limited than I’d like.
Steve, the e-book is fascinating.
Rand, FOr sure approach her. Even if it’s in the futre, then she can sort of plan for the time. PLus, sometimes thinking about things and just being able to talk to her helps you figure out what it is you want/need.
She did my website redesign, and was to wonderful for words. And she’s always there to help with the upkeep and any Questions.
