  1. Ooh, good luck with that! I had strep three times in about six months in the mid ’90’s. Finally the doc told me to bring the whole family in for throat cultures. It was Alex’s birthday, and I felt kind of bad about it until it turned out he was the carrier that kept giving it to me. Two bottles of antibiotics later we were cleared up and I haven’t had it since.

  2. When I woke up this morning, my throat didn’t feel bad, but I stopped at the clinic on my way to work anyway. No was was I going into the weekend with the possibility of strep throat hanging over my head. My PA checked blood pressure and temperature this morning. He listened to my lungs, looked in my ears, up my nose, and down my throat. He didn’t say I have strep throat, but he gave me an antibiotic “Z-Pak” and a supply of Deconomine for all the “stuff up my nose.”

I’d been meaning to go in and ask him about my heinous post-nasal drip. I guess I don’t need to anymore. I think he found it.

  3. If you had strep you’d probably have gotten a phone call by now. Then again, we’re talking about the military health care system. I can’t figure out why people think that gov’t managed health care would be a good idea.

*L* He ‘found’ your post-nasal drip! “Oh, well, looky there!”

Sorry. My head isn’t right today, and I have to work…

  4. Nope. He didn’t take a culture. Just gave me the Z-Pak. Part of me thinks it wasn’t a good idea, but I haven’t taken an anti-biotic in years, so it probably won’t matter too much in the overall immunity problem.

Well, he found the gunk in the back of the nostrils that results from post-nasal drip.
