And that was just for today. Monica captured a great letter to a product manager in her blog meanderings. If you’re a woman, I can’t imagine you not being able to relate to the letter. If you’re a man, well, you’ll probably recognize some signs.
It’s a been a busy week at work — I had something I had to get done by Monday, so I didn’t get home until after nine tonight. One of those number crunching things where every set of figures you compile is just a few off from what it should be, but you’re not completely certain what it really should be. Finally, after counting the same things four or five different ways sixteen different times, I got all the numbers to agree. I quickly updated the slides. Then, while filling in the table I had to create, the second set of numbers kept coming up two short. Finally, after six times counting cross ways, I found where I’d forgotten to include a two in one of the columns, and everything came out. Ugh. Strangely, I like working with columns and rows of information and making it match up. In a similar vein, accounting has never appealed to me. Maybe that’s because I’ve never taken an accounting class. Before I’d read a Crusie romance novel, the romance genre had never appealed to me either. There may be a lesson somewhere in that observation.
What’s up with April (nearly 16) over at For Better or For Worse? Start with Monday’s strip and read through to today.
Holly’s starting work on the forthcoming Create A Plot Clinic. She’s asked writers to post what their plotting problems are to help her focus the book toward things you need. Go tell her what your plotting bugaboos are.
As for me, I’ll be gone for a couple of days starting Sunday. I want to help my tax preparer celebrate his birthday, and I need to sign the forms. It’s a quick in and out trip, so you’ll hardly notice I’m gone.
Ooh! Good thing Mom and Dad came home! Looks like Liz has pushy boyfriend potential, too…
Warren just isn’t right for her. I think Anthony’s the one. How about you?
