Work. Ugh.
The first day back at work after a week off is always tough. Especially when you know you’re going to retire in a little over a year. The desire for that time to fly is really, really strong.
I have tons of work this week, and it’s showing no sign of slowing down. I had to leave on time to pick the “kids” up from the kennel tonight, but tomorrow night is going to be a late night. Wednesday night is our “morale building activity” (poker night has resumed), and I refuse to cancel it this week. The rest of the week, though, is likely to be a long one.
On the other hand, it’s the NBA Finals. Why should I miss them? The work isn’t going anywhere? I may be rethinking this process…
I wish I could retire in a little over a year. But I can relate to wishing the time would fly – it’s probably very similar to when you know you’re switching to a better (or at least different) job. Best wishes…
Oh, yeah, I can relate to what Jim said.
Why not play poker while watching the finals? Seems like something I’d do, but then I’d probably lose all my money in the process, ha ha.
Mostly because we play at someone else’s house. They wound up cancelling last night, so I got to see the Spurs pull one out.
